Shards

Shards are the primary currency used within the shatter. They are used for a variety of things, such as buying/upgrading equipment, unlocking Alpha Caches, rolling the Grab-A-Gun, and buying things from K8's Shop or the store inside Dungeons.

Shards function differently from Jade Vines in that they will reset every time the player ends a run, be it by choice or not.

The amount of shards the player starts with can be upgraded to a maximum of 500 by spending Jade Vines in the Aspects menu.
